Mesh Networking

Wireless solutions are now available to provide unlicensed Wi-Fi coverage throughout an entire municipality. This type of architecture is usually referred to as Mesh Networks. A “mesh” architecture usually has nodes mounted at street-level, on light poles and street lights. These nodes are typically connected via wireless “hops”. Integral Wireless Solutions has the experience to design and install such networks. The number “hops” will need to be carefully designed based on the types of applications that will run over this network.

Scalability – Unlike conventional wireless, a mesh network can scale to thousands of nodes, allowing contiguous broadband coverage over hundreds of square miles with no increase in this routing overhead.
Quality of Service (QoS) – To guarantee complete, carrier-class coverage, Wi-Fi cells are installed with overlapping coverage areas, providing resiliency from interference, wired or wireless network failure, and other environmental disruptions.
High Performance – Mesh networks will support from 500 kbps to 54 Mbps.

Security – These type systems support WEP, WPA, AES, MAC Address Filtering and VPN Security.
